On April 27, 2011, a severe hailstorm passed through West Knox County, including Wesley Place. The picture gallery below shows the devastation. All roofs had to be replaced. IMPORTANT: Note that carrying insurance that covers roofs is the homeowner's responsibility.
Golf ball size hail? Almost. There was probably some that was that big as hail fell for several minutes and swept across many subdivisions in West Knoxville. While the loss of roofs was the big ticket item, there was damage to many other parts of homes and the common areas as you can see on this page.
Roofs and Gutters
All roofs in Wesley Place had to be replaced, including the one on top of the clubhouse. Most skylights were broken and even many vents had to be replaced. Gutters were badly damaged throughout our community as well.
Siding and Windows
Despite receiving glancing blows, siding on the upwind side of every house was severely damaged as were windows.
Pool Furniture, Light Fixtures, and Household Patio Items
The pool furniture took extensive damage as did light fixtures and the items on many home patios and decks.
