Grounds Maintenance
Wesley Place contracts grounds maintenance services (mowing, mulching, turf management, trimming, stick pickup, leaf removal, etc.). Due to our extensive grounds and large trees, grounds maintenance is our largest annual expense. These services cover both common and private areas, but homeowners are responsible for the plants in their own landscaping beds. The Grounds Committee oversees the routine operations of the contractor.
Landscaping and Lawn Guidelines
The following policy describes some of the allowable and unallowed practices for landscaping and landscape beds.
Tree Planting, Removal, and Replacement
Mature trees are one of the hallmarks of Wesley Place. We love for you to plant more! Occasionally, though, a tree needs to be cut down. All additions or removal of trees, even on private property, must be pre-approved by the Grounds Committee. Submit a landscape change request form to get started. Note that all tree changes on private property are at the homeowner's expense, including grinding the stump of a removed tree. If you remove a tree and do not replant one, you will "owe" Wesley Place a tree to be planted on common ground. For additional details, and help selecting new trees, see the Tree Management Policy.
How to Request a Landscaping Change
Get a Request for Landscaping Change form at the mail station or download one using the link below. The form will request your contact information, a description of the requested change, and your signature. Complete the form and put it in the mail slot to the left of the clubhouse door. To ensure that your form is picked up promptly, extend the flag on the wall.
